Edit or delete a dataset
Use the row actions on MemoryLake > Datasets to edit basic metadata or delete a SQL dataset. You need corresponding access.
Edit metadata
- Open the row actions for the dataset.
- Select Edit.
- Change the name or description.
- Save the form.
- Wait for the success message and verify the updated row.
The name cannot be empty. The edit drawer does not change the database connection or selected schemas. The project-description summary on the detail page is also a separate field from this description.
Delete a dataset
- Open the row actions for the dataset.
- Select Delete.
- Confirm only after checking the dataset name and intended target.
- Wait for the success message and refreshed list.
Deletion is not presented as a recoverable operation in the current interface. Do not delete the original dataset merely to change its connection or schema scope; create and validate a replacement first.
Errors and recovery
- If an update fails, reopen the drawer and verify the name before retrying.
- If deletion fails, the dataset should remain in the list. Refresh before attempting the action again.
- If an action is absent or unavailable, you may lack corresponding access or the workspace may be read-only.
