Track report status
Open AI Reports > Report Records, or open the records view for a template, to inspect task state.
| Status | Meaning in the interface | Available next action |
|---|---|---|
| Queued | The task is waiting to run | Keep the records view open or return later |
| Generating | Work has started or is still reported as running | Read the percentage, chapter count, and elapsed time when returned |
| Completed | The service reports success | Review checks when required; download only when allowed |
| Failed | The service reports failure | Review the returned error when present; retry is available |
| Canceled | The service reports cancellation | No resume action is documented in the current interface |
Follow live progress
While at least one visible record is Queued or Generating, the records view requests fresh task data approximately every five seconds. A generating record can show:
- A percentage when the service returns progress.
- Completed and total chapter counts when available.
- Server-reported elapsed time.
Preparing means the task is active but no numeric progress has been returned yet. Missing progress details do not by themselves mean that generation has stopped.
Review a completed report
A completed record can require review before download. Open View check to inspect the verdict, partial-output label, empty chapters, export note, and returned findings. When the record is marked Confirmation needed, download remains unavailable until the record no longer requires review.
Important limitations
- A status label reports service state; it does not validate the factual quality or completeness of the generated document.
- Completion and downloadability are separate conditions.
- Progress values come from the report service. DataFact does not estimate missing percentages or elapsed time with the browser clock for an active task.
- Historical records can omit newer progress or review fields.
