Add general knowledge

General knowledge is one body of broad context for the selected Dataset or Analysis Model version. Use business knowledge instead when a rule needs its own lifecycle, entity association, status, or search result.

Edit the content

  1. Open General Knowledge.
  2. Confirm the current context before editing:
    • an eligible, unbound Dataset; or
    • the intended Analysis Model version with Completed build status.
  3. Edit the text.
  4. Select Save and wait for success confirmation.

Saving trims surrounding whitespace. Saving an empty value clears the Dataset content. In an Analysis Model, the interface stores at most one general-knowledge record per selected version and overwrites that version's existing content.

Version behavior

Analysis Model general knowledge is version-specific. Changing the version selector changes the content being viewed and edited. Do not assume that editing one completed version updates the current active version or every other version.

When a new model version is built, inherited content depends on the build and baseline behavior. Verify the new version rather than assuming a copy occurred.

Read-only and errors

Read-only Dataset knowledge hides Save and keeps the text area read-only. A non-completed model version also hides the version-level save action. If saving fails, retain the text locally if possible, reload the latest server value, and reconcile before retrying.
