A feature is read-only

1. Check whether the page displays an explicit read-only notice.
2. Review the resource state. Building versions, failed versions, or incomplete documents can restrict editing.
3. Distinguish an immutable field from an entirely read-only resource. For example, an Agent resource kind or Dataset source can stay locked while other fields remain editable.
4. Confirm that you are in the intended workspace and have corresponding permission.
5. If the product suggests copying a resource into your own workspace, follow that visible workflow before editing the copy.

Do not assume read-only always means an access problem. State, resource type, protected version, or deployment guidance can each cause it.
