Create Documents (Lite)

Documents (Lite) is the lightweight document-memory resource in MemoryLake. Some current interface controls use the label Document Memory for this resource.

Prerequisites

You need corresponding access to the Documents (Lite) area. Files do not have to be selected during creation; they are added from the Document Library afterward.

Create the resource

  1. Open Documents (Lite).
  2. Select Add Document Memory.
  3. Enter a non-empty name.
  4. Optionally add a description that states purpose, source scope, intended use, and maintenance expectations.
  5. Select a Default Chunking Method from the methods currently available.
  6. Save the form.

The PDF parser is not selectable in the current form. Do not infer a parser choice from the selected chunking method.

Expected result

DataFact confirms creation and adds the resource to the list. Open it to add source files and start parsing.

Important limitations

  • Creating the container does not upload, parse, or index any file.
  • Available chunking methods depend on the current parsing capabilities.
  • The default method can later be overridden at document level, but doing so re-chunks that document.
