Manage drill-down entities

Drill-down entities form the hierarchical business model used by a drill-down Analysis Model. This area is present only when the selected model type and template include it.

Select the version

Use the version selector before reading or changing entities. Any version with Completed build status is editable; a version that is created, preparing, building, or failed is read-only.

Find entities

The table supports three query modes with this priority: exact entity ID, similarity question, then position. Position options can include all, root, leaf, and island. Apply the query explicitly; reset clears all modes.

Similarity results can show a score. The score measures retrieval similarity, not whether the entity definition is correct.

Create or edit an entity

  1. Select an editable completed version.
  2. Create a root entity, or use the topology to add a child under an existing parent.
  3. Enter the required knowledge description and any fields shown by the current template, such as threshold or analysis guidance.
  4. When selecting parents by ID, verify the resolved names before saving.
  5. Save and confirm the updated table or topology.

The table and topology can both expose edit and delete actions in an editable version. Deletion eligibility is template-driven and rechecked by the service; a node with children, or a connected node under a stricter rule, can be protected.

Important limitations

  • The table is not a full physical-schema editor.
  • Position and relationship counts come from the service; do not infer leaf status only from currently expanded graph nodes.
  • A concurrent update can reject a save or delete. Reload the entity before retrying.
