Understand analysis model types

An Analysis Model packages reusable knowledge, sources, and versions for structured-data analysis. Its type controls which knowledge areas and behaviors are available.

Available types

The create page obtains its type choices from the current Analysis Model templates. Do not rely on a fixed list: an environment can expose a different set or mark a type as unavailable for the current workspace.

Types recognized by the current interface include:

  • Drill-down: adds a hierarchical business-model area and topology workflow.
  • Ask Data: focuses on business entities, business knowledge, general knowledge, and optimization examples.
  • Indicator Extraction: can appear when its template and product availability permit it.

The displayed name comes from the template or localized interface. If an unknown type is returned, DataFact displays its raw type code instead of silently treating it as another type.

Choose safely

  • Decide whether the workflow needs a drill-down hierarchy before creating the model.
  • Review the knowledge areas shown for the selected type.
  • Confirm the required database connection and schemas.
  • Treat a premium or unavailable state as a product-availability boundary, not as a form error.

The model type cannot be changed after creation in the current interface. Create a replacement model if the analysis mode must change.
