Add business knowledge

Business knowledge records domain rules, definitions, or interpretation guidance. Write each item as a clear statement that can stand on its own; do not use it to store credentials or raw source data.

Availability and edit state

Business knowledge can appear in eligible Dataset knowledge and in Analysis Model knowledge versions. Dataset knowledge becomes read-only when a model is bound. An Analysis Model version is editable only when its build status is Completed.

Add an item

  1. Open Business Knowledge in the relevant knowledge area.
  2. Select the create action.
  3. Enter the required content.
  4. Optionally associate one or more existing business entities when the selector is shown.
  5. Save and wait for success confirmation.

Entity association supplies context; it does not copy or merge the entity record into the knowledge text.

Find and maintain items

Use the search field and explicitly apply the search. In an Analysis Model, search is similarity-based and can add a score column; the score is a retrieval signal, not an accuracy rating.

Editable rows can be updated, enabled, disabled, or deleted. Deletion requires confirmation and can fail while another record still references the item or when the model record changed concurrently. Reload before overwriting a concurrent change.

Writing guidance

  • State the applicable business scope and time period.
  • Distinguish a definition from an instruction or exception.
  • Avoid conflicting rules; if a rule replaces another, update or disable the older item.
  • Validate answer behavior after material changes.
