Test a database connection
Connection testing is a required save prerequisite. It verifies the current form values and, on success, loads the Schema selection.
Run the test
- Complete all required fields for the selected database type.
- Select Test Connection.
- Wait for Connection verified or a visible failure.
- After success, open Schema Selection and choose at least one Schema.
- Save the connection.
The test and save controls remain unavailable while their current request is running. A successful test can still be followed by Schema-loading failure; wait for the list or retry its visible loading action before saving.
After changing fields
Treat changes to credentials, connection location, resource ID, or table filter as requiring a new test. In edit mode, the form can test the existing stored password without asking you to reveal it.
