Delete an eligible version

Deleting a version removes it from normal use. The current interface does not expose a restore action.

Protected versions

The delete action is unavailable when a version is:

• the initial init version;
• the current active version; or
• in a created, preparing, or building state.

The service can reject other cases, including a version that is still required as a build baseline or a version that no longer exists. The button being enabled is not a guarantee that deletion will succeed.

Delete a version

1. Open Knowledge Versions.
2. Locate a non-protected version.
3. Open its row actions and select Delete.
4. Verify the displayed version identifier.
5. Confirm the destructive action.
6. Wait for success feedback and the refreshed list.

To delete a completed version that is currently active, first activate another eligible completed version. The initial version remains protected even after another version becomes current.

Errors and recovery

If deletion fails, keep the version and read the returned message. Refresh before retrying so current status and dependencies are not stale.
